The ruling body of the kingdom of Stormwind. The royal court decides nearly every national military or administrative decree in the kingdom. Though technically beholden to the will of the King, the years leading up to Varian’s coronation as king saw a significant increase in the House Nobles, those vassals of special or privileged birth who enforce the rulings of the king.

Formed of six influential and powerful Houses, the ruling body known as the House Nobles beneath the King has grown increasingly rebellious and independent. They often prefer to handle matters delegated to them in their own ways and while still claiming loyalty to Stormwind, they have drifted farther and farther away from the authority of their king, Varian.

Along with the King and the House Nobles, the royal court also consists of special positions filled by members handpicked by the King before his succession. These include the Champion of Stormwind, a position which includes sovereignty over the entirety of Stormwind’s armies, and the Royal Advisor, a special attaché and assistant to the king. There is also the Archmage of Stormwind – though it should be noticed that this position is nearly filled by the mage suggested by the Stormwind Tower- and the Captain of the Royal Guard; the personal guardian and protector of the King.
